Artists Along the Bitterroot Membership Application

Artists Along the Bitterroot is a non-profit organization of professional artists representing a wide variety of mediums, who offer unique tours by opening their studios to the public. Please read our Tour Guidelines BEFORE applying for membership to insure you understand how our Tours work.

To apply for Guest Membership in AAB:

1. Fill out the form below answering all the questions. If you do not have a website, don’t fill out that portion.

2. Artwork Submission Requirements: Submissions must be original work. Artwork submitted to the five-person jury panel must have been produced within the last two years. Work will not be accepted that appears to be copied in part or in whole from the work of other artists. You will need to upload:

7-8 images of artwork.
One (1) image of the artist at work with your medium.
One (1) image of exhibit ready artwork (framed or not as appropriate to the medium).

3. A brief artist statement about your artwork based on your medium, technique, subject matter, inspiration or motivation.

4. A short resume including exhibition history if any.

5. Upload five JPEG/PNG (see the specifications below) images of your original work, and at least one JPEG/PNG of you working in your studio. Only digital images will be accepted.

NOTE: Guest Members must be hosted by a full member in good standing. Below you will asked for this information or if you wish to find a host.

Notification of acceptance will be given within a month of receipt of jury fee. Upon acceptance, you will need to pay the annual membership fee of $50. Annual membership dues are due on January 1st each year with a grace period until January 31st to pay your dues before being dropped from membership.

Once you are accepted and are ready to have a Artist page on our website (See Artist page), there is one-time website fee of $50 to set that up. We will send the information on how to get the information for your Artists page to us when you are accepted.

You will also be asked to share 2-3 pieces of your artwork at one of our Member Meetings as a way of introducing you to the AAB community.

I affirm that I have the read the guidelines and bylaws found on the AAB website and by signing this form, I agree to abide by their terms: AAB assumes no responsibility for lost, damaged or stolen items or damage to real property during the Open Studio Tour. The undersigned discharges AAB of any and all claims, damages and suites from damages or loss to the undersigned’s property during the event. The undersigned agrees to abide by the rules established by AAB. Anyone not in compliance will be suspended from future participation and is subject to removal from the event with no refund of the annual membership fee.
