Linda began oil painting before high school, when her aunt gave her an oil painting set, and is mostly self-taught. Upon retiring from the business world and after her family was grown, she re-entered the world of art and painting and earned an Associate of Arts degree in Studio Art from Cabrillo College, California. She was also chosen to participate in the Art Under The Oaks Fair and Santa Cruz County Cultural Council Open Studios Tour from 2001 to 2005.

Since moving to Utah, Linda has received several awards including Best of Theme, Best of Non-Theme, Best of Show in several Uintah Arts Council juried exhibits, Best of Show and First Premium for Visual Arts at the 2006 Uintah County Fair.

“My work is ‘realistic.’ I like the form of things—of objects either in a still life or a scene—that I can recreate on canvas with my own interpretation; I like to layer subtle color in shadows or reflections and use the play of light and dark to create effect and areas of detail to spark interest. I paint from real life, set-ups, or photos, and plein air.”
