Artist Statement

The beauty of my beloved Montana is the inspiration for  my landscape paintings – the ever-changing drama of the weather, the changes that come with the seasonal extremes, the  light on this amazing mountainous landscape – all captivate my attention from sunrise to sunset.

A lifelong involvement in the arts led to studies in many art mediums at several California colleges, resulting in a BA degree from San Diego State University.  After moving to Montana, painting studies continued through workshops with several well known artists, particularly Richard McKinley.  Long time regional and national exhibiting has resulted in numerous awards.
