Gary Lynn Roberts – Western Oil Paintings
Artist Statement
Born and raised in Texas, but long settled in the Bitterroot Valley. I have been a painter and lover of Western beauty my entire life. Carrying on the Western tradition in oils, I am a third generation artist. I grew up in an atmosphere permeated by art. My major influence being my father, noted Western artist Joe Rader Roberts.
In addition to my fathers training, I received one on one training from many of America's finest artists, including G. Harvey and A.D. Greer. I have taken these experiences and molded them into my own style, a mixture of Realism and Impressionism. My work encompasses the time when cattle drives, Indian encampments and cowboys on horseback were prevalent.
