Roberta J Burruss – Watercolor Paintings
Artist Statement
The truly grand landscape we enjoy here in western Montana, inspires me. The magnificent scenery of the “big sky” is complimented by the variety of techniques and styles available to a watercolor artist.
I begin by photographing, drawing, or painting while out in nature. Moving to my studio the process continues with designing compositions. Once the plan is in place, I fill my brush with colorful paint and bring the painting to life, translating the elegance of the landscape into expressive watercolor paintings.
In 2006 I was honored with Signature Membership in the Montana Watercolor Society, allowing me to sign my name using the MTWS initials. I enjoy sharing both my paintings and the process of creating paintings. I find it very rewarding.
