Artist Statement

“D” Pepprock grew up right here in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley sketching, painting and sculpting its diverse wildlife and landscapes while documenting his everyday life as a hand on one at the valley largest cattle ranches near Stevensville.

D’s colorful paintings capture the spirit of the west with a modern narrative flare that draws in the viewer and invites them to look closely for someone’s subtle but meaningful details that give each piece it’s own unique identity.

While working primarily in Oils, watercolors and coffee pigments, D also loves to incorporate local history into his work by painting on antique ephemera he has collected locally that is often more than a century old.

When not creating art you can find D exploring the mountains of western Montana or searching for historical Montana related items to add to his collection.
