Mari Bolen has been a professional artist since 1964. She began as an illustrator in college for the Department of Fish & Game, Art Director of Montana State University Dept. of Film & Television, Art Director and Producer for TV stations KPAZ Phoenix, KGSC San Francisco Bay Area, freelanced for other stations and was a scenic designer various studios in Los Angeles. Mari made the transition from original clay to bronze easily; drawing on her extensive lifelong study of the Plains Culture. Her knowledge of human and animal anatomy led her to a side gig of Forensic Sculpture, after studying under Pat Gatliffe, renowned forensic sculptor. She passes on these skills in classes in her studio, as well.
Mari’s work has been featured in numerous magazines and interviews. She welcomes visitors to her studio/gallery by appointment most any day.
